Hey everyone!!So this is it!! One last special trip to Yosemite as 510 Hikers and we want to do it in grand style. We have brought over 100 hikers of color up those cables and we are gonna bring another 20/25 this trip. Black hikers. Proud of that. This time around we want to have a Clouds Rest group and a Half Dome cables group. We all start together from the Curry Village lot in the morning and at the 7 mile mark we split and head to separate destinations. I’ve been to both destinations. Both are worth the trouble.
So, to get to hike Half Dome, we have to apply for permits in a lottery system. Everyone who wants to go with us, we need them to apply for a permit. You have until March 30th to apply. Whether you are going to Clouds Rest or Half Dome, we want you to apply. Link is in the discussion section to apply. It’s $10 I believe. The hike is 17 miles. We want everyone in either red or black, we will decide which one to wear closer to the date. So, we need everyone to be OK with that. Also, the way we apply is, everyone applies for the lottery before March 31st through the NPS.gov website. the application is gonna ask you for each date you request, how many people you want to bring, PUT THAT YOU WANT 6 people in your party!!! Whoever wins a permit gets to pick 2 people of that 6 to bring and the 3 other spaces will go into a pool for those who did not get approved to be picked from. We will decide who gets spaces after the lottery. I like to favor those coming from out of town who have never done the cables. Also, if you did apply, you will not get picked, simple as that. We have done this 5 years straight. Rarely in the 5 years has anyone who wanted to go not get to go. So, please trust the process. I know you have 5 people who want to go. You pick 2, just like it’s always been done.
The key is everyone applying. After you apply, I need all confirmations sent to me. No apply? No go (unless your friend wins and picks you). The cables permit win rate is about 3% so, we need everyone to play and apply. It’s all love, this is a bucket list hike for hikers all across the country, stunning falls, stunning views.
If we do wear black, we will prolly make special shirts for the hike ($20/$25 bucks) We want to represent people of color especially coming out to these trails which often are absent of black and brown men and women. Let’s pull up and bring the swag and positive energy we bring to hiking.
The important part of all this now is;
1. Apply for a permit on the website!!
2. Pick the hike dates in THIS order.

2d June 7th
Pick 6 people in your party!! That’s key.
That’s it!!
Once the results are in we can talk about hotels, airbnbs, etc. it’s possible to drive from Oakland and get to the hike and hike the trail, possible but it’s HELLA hard. In the past few years, we have stayed in the Yosemite area Thursday night. Some have stayed Friday night as well so they can return to the park Saturday also for more chill walks and hang out (optional).
Results from the Lottery come back April 11th. The lottery notification day, everyone will be notified to check emails and see if they won.
June 21st is popular day. The falls will be at their peak. It will be wonderful.

All 510 Hikers and friends of our are invited but we taking nobody who doesn’t ride or die with us. All you in the fence people who want to come just because you know we experienced and may be able to get you in, no thanks. 🙏 🙏. We don’t need your quantity to invade our quality.
