About this Event
The session will follow the format of a round table and will bring together business leaders, corporate representatives, and other guests to focus on the issue of ageism in the corporate world. The discussion will highlight the inclusion of a 50-plus workforce and will address the following questions:
- Is the corporate recruiting policy commitment to Diversity, Equality, and Inclusiveness (DEI) actively considering the case of older people?
- What are the corporate policy, frameworks, and practices that companies are putting in place to address the issue of recruiting and retaining the 50plus workers?
The session at BMW Foundation is promoted by 50plus Chapter as part of the activities which will address the issue of "New Longevity and the challenge of the reinvention of retirement" to be discussed at the Catalysing Change Week 2023. Three other online sessions are scheduled one in Portuguese (02.05.2023), one in Spanish (04.05.2023), and one in English (05.05.2023), all of them to happen at 15:00 CET.
Advancements in science, technology, healthcare, nutrition, and healthier lifestyles are making it possible to foresee a new frontier for human longevity, namely a Centenary Life. In this context of new longevity, individuals of the Boomer and X Generation are pioneering the reinvention of the meaning of getting older, and besides fighting ageism these two generations are searching for ways to carry on actively participating in society.
The 50plus Chapter is a networking space for individuals belonging to the Baby-boomer and X Generations, who are seasoned and qualified professionals, looking for opportunities to contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. It is a joint initiative of CATALYST 2030, a fast-growing global movement of people and organizations committed to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDGs), and LIFELONG, a social startup with the mission to help create a New Longevity mindset.
Catalysing Change Week 2023 is the world’s largest event led by social innovators and entrepreneurs to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and accelerate collaborative systems change. There will be more than 250 sessions and activities in a dedicated annual week, bringing together social entrepreneurs, representatives from the private sector, governments, funders, and others involved in systems change to spark interest in and support for achieving the SDGs.
