Heron Corn Mill opened to the public in July 1975 by Princess Alexandra after its first restoration. To commemorate the occasion, a yew tree was planted in the grounds. Now 50 years from opening, we are celebrating with a special family-focused day, with a whole range of activities related to the mill - something for all the family.
Have-a-go at various rural crafts, special tours of the mill, a minecraft station, den-building, campfire-pit, and many messy outdoor crafts for children. And we wouldn't be complete without our very own giant Heron, and his wildlife handler, who is here to remind you all to take care of the environment!
Throughout the day there will be refreshments available, with plenty of fresh bread and cakes.
