The Kootenay Gallery of Art is thrilled to announce a milestone celebration marking its 50th anniversary with a full day of art, music, and community spirit. Entitled 50 Shades of Art, the event takes place on Saturday, September 13th, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the grounds of the Kootenay Gallery at 120 Heritage Way, across from the Castlegar Airport. This vibrant celebration is free and open to the public, inviting art lovers of all ages to come together in honour of five decades of artistic inspiration and cultural impact in the West Kootenay region.Highlights include:
Live Entertainment featuring talented local musicians
Outdoor Artisan Market showcasing the creativity of regional artists and artisans
Live Demos from local artists
Dueling Easels where artists go brush-to-brush in fast-paced painting showdowns
“We’re excited to open our galleries and outdoor space to the entire community to celebrate this important chapter in our history,” says the Kootenay Gallery’s Executive Director, Joleen Kinakin. “It’s a chance to honour the artists, supporters, and visitors who have made the gallery a cornerstone of the local arts scene for 50 years.”
