We usually think of anger as one of those ugly 'bad' emotions. But did you know that the power of anger is the same power that digests our food and energises our cells?
Anger is neither good nor bad; it is a form of power, and how it manifests can be either destructive or constructive. Anger comes from the Agni Tattva, the fire element that gives us the strength of commitment, discipline, will-power, and the ability to carry out our intentions.
Learning to use the power of anger constructively can help us achieve our purpose, fulfil our dreams, and motivate our lives.
The Agni Tattva can help us to harmonise the pulse of the Third Chakra—to transform anger to commitment, and to heal mind and body so we can express the soul.
In yogic terms, certain emotions like anger and sadness could be viewed as ‘apanic’, relating to the principle of apana – (outgoing, eliminative force).
This is the polarity of prana (life-force). These emotions must be expressed and released somehow. If we deny or internalise their associated sensations, we will become ill in some capacity.
The question is, how can we appropriately express them, to be authentic, and still keep ourselves and others safe?
