“𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗲” - a familiar stereotype in the patriarchal society. So, we’re here to debunk this myth and prove that women are equally productive, thoughtful, and insightful as men.
With our country having an almost 50:50 ratio of male and female population, we believe this equality should be reflected across all sectors. To promote gender equality, the IER Debating Club successfully hosted four seasons of the National British Parliamentary Debate Tournament, called "50-50," over the last four years. This year, we’re going to make it more explicit and eventful. With the theme of "Pacing Towards Equality," IERDC invites you to the Open British Parliamentary Debate Tournament named, 50-50: Season 5.0!
From the adjudication panel to debate teams, tab team, equity team, and motion committee, each component of this tournament will feature an equal number of male and female participants. Here we celebrate equality in each and every sphere of debate.
