About this Event
Set in the seemingly innocent world of 1956, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche is a wildly absurd, dark comedy that takes you into the heart of a quiche-loving women’s society during a time of Cold War paranoia and social repression.
Welcome to the annual quiche breakfast of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein, where five well-mannered "widows" gather to celebrate sisterhood, community... and of course, their shared passion for quiche. But when an atomic bomb siren interrupts the festivities, secrets are revealed, allegiances are tested, and nothing, absolutely nothing, is safe from scrutiny (not even the quiche).
This satirical play, written by Andrew Hobgood and Evan Linder, is a tongue-in-cheek homage to mid-century Americana, gender roles, and repressed desires, all wrapped in 75 minutes of fast-paced, laugh-out-loud chaos. With its campy tone, razor-sharp wit, and surprising heart, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche has become a cult favorite in theaters across the country.
Whether you're a theater lover, a fan of queer comedy, or just curious what happens when you mix lesbians, nuclear war, and egg-based cuisine, this show is for you.
