Embark on a transformative journey through a 2-hour Katonah Yoga experience. Together, we’ll delve deep into metaphor, physical alignment, and energetic flow to substantiate the yoga practice in the larger context of your life.
In this extended practice, David and Greg will guide you through foundational Katonah Yoga asana designed to awaken awareness, recognize unconscious habits and build stable, parameters through embodied geometry.
As we attune the body, pranayama techniques harness your breath to weave the cross-fibers of your body and its part in the wider web of Great Nature. Expect hands on adjustments, prop use, and a communal, conversational experience. All levels welcome.
Saturday - Hatha Class w/ Greg Hines
10am - 11:15am at YUJ Yoga Studio
Hatha yoga refers to the physical asana practice of yoga. A Hatha yoga class is typically a slower practice that focuses on alignment and breath within the postures. Poses will be held for a few breaths which builds strength, flexibility, and endurance alongside ensuring proper alignment. This class can be a great place for anyone from beginners to experienced yogis to ground down and focus on form.
Saturday - Katonah Yoga Restorative + Hands on Adjustments:
1pm - 4pm at YUJ Yoga Studio
Restorative Katonah yoga postures provide the container for deep reformation and refuge in your body, breath, and imagination. Join David & Greg for an immersive 3 hour workshop focused on the transformative power of hands-on adjustments. Props and people construct the geometry of asanas allowing the body to reshape over time.
Gain fresh insights and overcome habitual limitations by exploring how different bodies encounter common postures. Refine your touch and enhance your ability to offer meaningful adjustments that enrich each person’s practice.
Each session builds off the next. We recommend attending the entire immersion as your schedule allows.
