5-Day Mindfulness Retreat with Residential Option

Theme: Mindfulness in Healing Trauma

At this a 5-Day Mindfulness Retreat, our Mindfulness Principal, Angie Chew will be partnering trauma specialist & author of best-seller Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness, Dr. David Treleaven. He will be discussing the pros and cons of mindfulness with respect to trauma, offering techniques that can be applied in various settings.

You will be traversing a range of formal and informal mindfulness practices including sitting, walking, standing, lying down and guided movements, dialogue and inquiry.  Observing silence will be required on two of the days as part of the program.

PROGRAM

July 2

  • 2pm Registration
  • 2:30pm - 6pm Afternoon Session with breaks

July 3-6

  • 9am - 12pm Morning session
  • 12pm - 2pm Lunch Break
  • 1pm - 5pm Afternoon session with breaks
  • 9pm-10pm Night practice (July 3-5)

Each session will comprise guidance, mindfulness practices, Q&A  

Retreat Teachers:

Adj. A/Prof Angie Chew teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy Courses. She is the leading mindfulness teacher in Singapore and has taught mindfulness to thousands including healthcare professionals, educators, bankers, technologists, homemakers and students. She has also conducted numerous mindfulness retreats.

Dr David Trelaevan is a Trauma Specialist. He will be introducing Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness® (TSM), illuminating on the pros and cons of mindfulness with respect to trauma, offering theory and techniques that can be applied in various settings. In 2018, he published a book titled Trauma-Sensitive Mindfulness that became a #1 New Release on Amazon.

Please note that David who is based overseas will be teaching via Zoom. He has trained thousands of people in TSM, from meditation and yoga teachers, to coaches and health-care workers, to classroom teachers.

On-Site COVID-19 Precautions: Daily temperature checks, 1m social distancing, face masks to be at all times in the ballroom, group size limit: 50

What to Bring: Yoga mat, water bottle, shawl or jacket in case you feel cold in the ballroom. Wear comfortable clothing
