Beginner Zouk lesson will begin at 6:00pm but the event is open to all levels. 7pm - 8pm (or later if people aren’t tired) will be an open practica 🥳

What is Brazilian Zouk?
Brazilian Zouk is a modern and versatile couple dance characterized by smooth body movements. There is plenty of room for improvisation and you can dance it on almost all music. Zouk is a social dance, this means that we don’t need a fixed dance partner and we can dance with everyone during the classes or socials. In Zouk we don’t teach long sequences but we learn the techniques behind the movements. With these techniques you can create a comfortable and smooth connection with your dance parter which enables you to construct your own creative dance. Dancing Zouk feels like talking through movements inspired by the rhythm and emotions of the music.
In the dance, we prioritize the feeling over the looks to create a strong connection with ourselves, our dance partner and the music. By creating a comfortable and trustful connection, we can relax and surrender to the dance.
When all ingredients are there, dancing Zouk can make you feel like flying over clouds.
About the teacher: With a lifelong passion for dance that began with ballet, jazz, and tap, Kière's artistic journey has been a whirlwind of creativity and self-expression. She started partner dancing in middle school, and in 2017 started teaching salsa in California but she held a love for Zouk, which inspired her to launch Tilted Zouk in 2023, and she is now on the executive team for Zouk Conexão in Atlanta, GA. She is also the dynamic Media+ Coordinator for Greenville Fusion!
While she also delights in East and West Coast Swing, her heart belongs to Fusion and Zouk, never missing a chance to lose herself in the rhythm. For Kière, dance is a powerful form of healing and connection, a way to tune out the world and tune in to the beauty within. She enjoys both leading and following, so don’t feel shy to ask for a dance after class!
