About this Event
Delight in the sounds of the Miami Symphony Orchestra (MISO), the Official Symphony Orchestra of the City of Miami, under the baton of Maestro Eduardo Marturet, as we gather at Peacock Park for an unforgettable Independence Day. Enjoy stirring melodies such as Frank Von Suppé’s ‘Light Cavalry Overture’ and John Philip Sousa’s iconic ‘The Stars and Stripes Forever,’ alongside a lineup of patriotic favorites and beloved classics. A spectacular fireworks display will illuminate the night sky, adding an enchanting visual element to this already magical event!
Special performances include singer Gail Seay, trumpet virtuoso @morrisnorthcutt, and the fantastic world premiere of “Legendary” by young junior composer Mark Schmollinger, a MISO 2024 Commission.

Start at Peacock Park by picking up your sticker rally board from the information booth. Visit 5 or more local shops or restaurants, collect at least 5 stickers, and bring your completed board back to the information booth to receive a picnic blanket perfect for watching the concert and fireworks show. We only have 500, so come early to get yours.
We have divided the Business District into five themed sections for a series of strolls:
- Commodore Plaza: "Commodore Liberty Parade"
- Grand Ave: "Grand Avenue Freedom Stroll"
- McFarlane Rd: "McFarlane Stars & Stripes Search"
- Main Highway & Fuller St: "Main & Fuller Independence Journey"
- Virginia, Florida, and Mary St: "Tri-Street Freedom Trail"
