Summer 2021 is almost here, and after last year was essentially cancelled, what better way to kick off this summer than giving back and playing some Wiffle Cup for a great cause!Community Through Sports will be hosting the 4th Annual Wiffle Cup Classic Tournament on Saturday, June 26th at 11 AM at City Park (Colorado Blvd & 23rd Ave).
❗️ Who is Community Through Sports?
Community Through Sports (CTS) is a Denver based organization seeking to infuse Sports back to our Community to inspire the next generation of Leaders through Teamwork and Sportsmanship.
⚾️ What is ‘Wiffle Cup’?
As a variation of the game of baseball, Wiffle Ball is the timeless childhood classic played with a hollow plastic ball with cutouts. In our added twist to the game, we require all our participants to play the game with a red cup in hand with your favorite adult beverage making your in game experience a memorable one depending on the content of your cup.
? What is the purpose of the tournament?
For the past four years, CTS has donated more than 200+ sports balls to public elementary schools in the historical communities of Clayton, Cole, Whittier, and Five Points all of which have come from the tournament. With every participant of the Wiffle Cup Classic Tournament required to bring in a sports ball, this event enables our continuous donation!
? Where: City Park, east of the baseball fields nearest intersection Colorado Blvd, 23rd Ave.
? Why: With sports activities being depleted at the elementary school level due to budgetary reasons, we help fill the gap and provide new sports equipment to selected public elementary schools in Denver.
? Wiffle-Cup Rules:
- Co-ed 6 Person teams or more, 2 girls min
-5 Innings or 50 min max per game
-Cup in hand at all times, with beverage of your choice, BYOB
-Equipment and Cups provided
-Softball rules apply
-**Catch the ball in Cup and its a double-play**
-Champagne Experience for Winning Team
