About this Event
We worked some hometown magic and secured a private piece of land for us all to Bushwhacker on. We'll be on the outskirts of San Marcos, in the foothills of the Hill Country. This is a boondocking event with potable water, flush bathrooms and electricity for recharges. There will not be any trailer hookups.
We'll be camping at a beautiful, private location and will have the venue to ourselves. We'll have a 10'x20' equipped outdooor kitchen and a covered shelter for our use. Our VP of Meats will be cooking up a Texas style BBQ. We'll have multiple, live local bands for entertainment. And that's just at camp!
If you're not familiar with the city of San Marcos it's home to one of the oldest, continuously populated areas in North America. The San Marcos Springs, which feeds the San Marcos River are rumored to be the lost Fountain of Youth. Now covered by a lake, the Springs still shoot out of the ground and can be seen on a glass bottomed boat tour. The San Marcos River is 72 degrees year round. So even in early March, a plunge in the river can be refreshing. The San Marcos River is known for it's tubing and kayaking opportunities. The Olympic Kayaking Trials were once held here and the city still hosts the starting line of the annual Texas Water Safari.
We're all about the outdoors here and have 22 miles of almost continuous hiking trails. The river walk is a gorgeous walking path along the San Marcos River and is even ADA accessible for those with mobility issues. And then, there's just the good ole San Marcos local charm. Craft breweries, BBQ joints, local artisan shops, farmer's market and so much more. Within a few short miles of the venue are the San Marcos River and Square.
Ticket prices include camping from Thurday thru Sunday, BBQ dinner and live music on Saturday.
I'll be putting together a FAQ, Calendar of Events and a full survival guide in the near future.
