Welcome to the 4th Annual Winter Blast 2.0 at the PRW Special Events Center, rekindling the name from K&N Raceway’s legendary Winter Blast events. This race is the PRW Special Events Center’s OFFICIAL Snowbird Nationals Warmup Event and is an excellent opportunity for racers to get the finishing touches put on their rides before heading south for Orlando, FL. Please read below for details regarding this fine event.For those of you that are new, what IS the PRW Special Events Center? We are THE premier carpet oval racetrack/venue in the Northeast, boasting a temporary rollout track that is as identical to the Snowbird Nationals as possible (dimensions, carpet, click track, ice, etc). We host multiple weekend-long events per indoor season where RC racers can experience the true "national event" atmosphere right here in CNY, take real notes and collect setup data for future events, and go up against the best competition that carpet oval racing has to offer. Combine that with PRW's exciting color commentary, efficient program management and high-energy event promotion, and you have a venue that racers and sponsors flock to from all over the U.S. and Canada!

General Event Schedule, subject to change based on time constraints:
Thursday 1/2: Pit setup and open timed (non-controlled) practice all day, from 8:00am to 10:30pm, building closes at 11. Clock will be turned on when the line starts to become busy (one session, leave stand, hop back in line if you wish). Great time to drop in, set up your pit, run a few laps and unwind from your travels. PLEASE DO NOT GO ON THE TRACK UNTIL you have signed up, paid/confirmed pre-entries, and have a wristband on.
Friday 1/3: Practice all day from 8:00am to 10:30pm (building closes at 11). Practice will consist of timed sessions; group together based on same or like-speed vehicles. Exclusive class sessions for classes such as 10th/12th Modified, Breakout, Spt RTT, others TBD. PLEASE DO NOT GO ON THE TRACK UNTIL you have signed up, paid/confirmed pre-entries, and have a wristband on. To be clear: NO qualifying Friday, all qualifying will run Saturday.
- Saturday 1/4: Doors open at 7:00am with timed practice running until 8:30 (round 1 heat sheet and time table to be posted by 8). At 8:30, track is closed for drivers meeting and singing of the American and Canadian National Anthems. Race 1 of round 1 is RUNNING at 9:00 sharp! All 3 rounds of qualifying will be run on Saturday; practice between rounds will be decided by number of heats and program pace. Hard stop at 11:00pm, whether that be the end of round 3 or practice afterwards.
- Sunday 1/5: Doors open at 7:00am, final practice until 8:45, ice cleaning, and the first B-Main will start at 9:00am SHARP (B-Main winners receive awards). Short intermission after B's for main prep and 50/50 raffle ticket drawing. Trophy presentation and podium photos after each main event has completed. Finish time goal: 2:00pm. We would greatly appreciate your help with stacking tables/chairs against the tech/drivers stand wall; many hands make light work!
PITS/REGISTRATION: Pit Spot Reservation and Pre-Registration for the event will be located at www.pembertonraceworks.com. Pit spot reservation and class pre-registration open WEDNESDAY 12/18/2024 AT 8:00pm EST. There is NOT an entry cap, however, DO NOT WAIT to reserve pit spots, they go very quick. You are welcome to bring your own table/chair if you cannot reserve a pit spot in time, there is plenty of space outside the main pit grid.
- First Class: $60
- Additional Classes: $40/ea
- KIDS (14-and-Under) Rate: $30, Unlimited Classes
- Pit Spots: $10/ea (4ft table space, 1 chair)
Our on-site hobby shop has been revamped and features more products than ever before to keep you covered here at the track. We will be fully stocked with PRW vehicles, parts, tires, traction compound, bodies, electronics, accessories, and much more. Food, snacks, drinks and fresh-baked goods will be for sale all weekend as well. Come hungry, consider eating in-house to help support our events!

Track/pit area located at back end of the building in basketball court area (behind netted soccer field). Straight back if you walk in through the front entrance, or around the back-left corner of the building if you wish to park outside the pit area (PLEASE leave the main lane open for emergency vehicles and Accelerate staff). Convenient central location between Rome and Utica; tons of close-by places for lodging, dining and leisure activities.
