Join us for a morning of fellowship, community, and inspiration as we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.This year's theme is "Bending the Arc of Justice" in celebration of the power of service, education, and collective action to continue Dr. King's vision of justice and equality.
We're excited to welcome historian, author, and civil rights advocate Sharon E. Sexton this year. A Detroit native, Sharon is known for her children's book, "MLK Jr.'s Detroit Dream: Memoir of a Civil Rights Foot Soldier," which recounts her childhood experiences at Dr. King's 1963 Detroit "I Have a Dream" speech and makes Black history accessible for young readers. She actively shares these personal memories at local events, connecting generations and emphasizing the significance of the Civil Rights Movement's early moments in Detroit.
