This culturally developed and "edu-taining" event presented by Roc-A-Natural Cultural Foundation Inc and Alkebulan Consciousness Rising and hosted at the Central Family Life Center, 59 Wright Street, Staten Island, NY 10304 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.
Guest Speaker, Andrew ‘Sekou’ Jackson, Librarian, Professor-Black Studies, Author will contribute to the holiday's principle of Umoja (Unity) to explore the 7 Kwanzaa Principle Values together. Let's rise higher as individuals, families, and communities.
Enjoy Afro-beats music by DJ Xcell, African drumming, dance, performances by Mcdc-Misscherylsdancecompany, lighting of the candles, storytime with I-Am-I - “Roots, Rhythms and Reflections”, shopping at the Unity Marketplace, and the feast, "Karamu," which is made possible due to the generous donations of our donors, allowing families and communities to gather, reflect on our African heritage, honor our ancestors and strengthen bonds through the shared act of eating a meal rich in cultural significance during this festive Kwanzaa holiday.
