Convoy Pops Up is a monthly improv show hosted by Alex Berg, Todd Fasen & Alex Fernie (aka Convoy!) But once a year, something special happens here in LA. Autumn arrives. People pull out their lightest crew swag hoodies. Influencers flock to that pumpkin farm out in Moorpark. It keeps being hot. AND for one month only, we rename the show to "Convoy Gourds Nuts" for a celebration of everyone's favorite decorative vegetable... GOURDS!
Not only will you get to see improv from three great improv groups including a number of exciting and very funny guests performers, but one lucky guest will win the prize of a lifetime... the CONVOY GOURD! In the past few years, this contest has gone disastrously wrong due to certain people not getting in the autumnal spirit and commiting to being fair. We promise you that THIS year, we are taking EVERY precaution to prevent any miscreants from stealing the gourd.
Past guests have included great performers from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Grand Crew, Veep, Rick & Morty, Shrinking, The Good Place, Dimension 20, AP Bio, Minx, Key & Peele, The Sex Lives of College Girls, Big Mouth etc, etc.
We run these shows on a "pay what you can" system, but if you can, we have a recommended ticket price of $10. All proceeds, after we pay for the venue, go straight to our special guests!
Convoy is Alex Fernie, Alex Berg & Todd Fasen who have been performing improv together for 20 years. They performed a weekly show at UCB Theater that Time Out LA described as "what can happen when a few players know each other's brains so well that they function as a very funny one" and LA Weekly named "Best Improv Show" in LA! Collectively, they've worked on shows like Reno 911!, Childrens Hospital, Terriers, Key & Peele, Last Week Tonight with Jon Oliver, Drive Share, Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, The Goldbergs and more.
