On December 23rd 2021 an outdoor hockey game took place in Belvidere,IL between the Ducks and Guns N Hoses hockey clubs. The following day Brian Zinkel, a member of the Ducks passed away after a long battle with brain cancer.Both teams have decided to continue to play this game yearly in honor and memorial of our dear friend and teammate Brian and use this event to raise money for Cancer charities. Please join us for an outdoor game under the lights.
The 4th annual Brian Zinkel Memorial Classic to be held in Belvidere at the Riverside Ice Arena on December 23rd 2025 at 8:00pm.
I invite you to donate to the Purple Plunge, a cause that Brian was a part of that helps local family’s who are battling cancer. We also welcome you to plunge with us in Lake Zurich on March 11th.
