Noted Biblical archaeologist, professor, and author Dr. DOUGLAS PETROVICH from the documentary “Is Genesis History?” will return to central Pennsylvania for the 4th ANNUAL BIBLICAL ORIGINS AND EVIDENCE CONFERENCE, October 10–12 in Hollidaysburg. Hosted by Frankstown Park Missionary Church, this year's topic is “The United Monarchy of Israel,” covering Biblical excavations from the reigns of Saul, Eshbaal, David, and Solomon.
Sessions begin at 6:30 pm Friday night and run throughout the weekend.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Dr. Petrovich has taught at universities around the world. A graduate of Moody Bible Institute, The Master's Seminary, and the University of Toronto, he founded Novosibirsk Biblical-Theological Seminary in Russia, serves as a speaker with Answers in Genesis, and is currently Professor of Biblical History and Exegesis at Brookes Bible College, St. Louis.
A contributor to the “Is Genesis History?” video series, one of Netflix’s most-watched documentaries, his areas of expertise include Syro-Palestinian archaeology, Middle and Late Egyptian language, and Ancient Near Eastern religions. He has participated in archaeological digs at Hazor, Tell Tayinat, and Shiloh, and is passionate about sharing the ways ancient history converges with the events and people of the Bible.
His books include Origins of the Hebrews: New Evidence of Israelites in Egypt from Joseph to the Exodus (2021) and Nimrod the Empire Builder: Architect of Shock and Awe (2023).
