4Arts Durgerdam - a fascinating exhibition due to the diversity and vision

On July 16th 17th and 18th trouw can visit he 4Arts exhibition in De Dorpkerk Durgerdammerdijk 76 in Durgerdam (Amsterdam). Four artists from different disciplines together form the 4Arts. You can discover the work of the four artists Edith van Eijden-Calis (ceramics) Roderique "Dracorubio" Arisiaman (photography) Ans Westra (sculptures) and Simone Stawicki (paintings and mixed media).

In 2008 ceramist Edith van Eijden-Calis started an Easter exhibition in Weesp. This has since become a recurring event. This is such a resounding success that 4Arts has also started exhibiting elsewhere in The Netherlands always with four artists from different disciplines.

Edith van Eijden-Calis makes ceramics. Self-taught she has discovered clay as her favorite material to express her creatively. She works with the raku and naked raku technique. She also makes themed work in combination with other materials. Since 1996 she has exhibited regularly and commissioned work is possible.

Roderique “Dracorubio” Arisiaman is a storyteller and picture maker. The work that 4Arts is showing is his photography and image editing. Dracorubio draws inspiration from various sources such as books films museums music mythology pop culture and of course his own vivid fantasy the way he looks at things. With a background in animation and 3D visual effects he creates the most bizarre and unworldly creations in Photoshop that make you laugh think and shiver.

Ans Westra makes sculptures in stone and bronze. What fascinates her is the craftsmanship; the search for a suitable stone the making of a plan (drawing clay and study model) “exploring” the stone and adjusting the original plan to ultimately come to a result. She gets her inspiration from the deep south of Italy where the Ancient Greeks left their traces.

Simone Stawicki shows her landscape paintings of mixed media. Here she combines acrylic paint and ink. The paint often uses a super soaker (large water gun). Her work is characterized by her special use of color and the play of light with the landscape.

4Arts Durgerdam is a very special exhibition due to the different art forms and the quality of the work. Worth to visit. The opening is on Saturday July 17 at 3 p.m. While enjoying a snack and a drink you can view the works of 4Arts Durgerdam and speak to the artists themselves. Everyone is welcome. The opening hours of the 4Arts Durgerdam exhibition are from 11AM to 5 PM.

The 4Arts exhibition will take place at De Dorpkerk Durgerdammerdijk 76 in Amsterdam. More information can be found on the site www.4arts.eu.
