About this Event
46 Renacimientos - San Ysidro
Join us on November 2nd, Día de los Muertos, for 46 Renacimientos, an artistic tribute to the revival of architecture and community spirit. This unique exhibition features forty-six textured sculptures, created from layers of paper and black gesso/ink on metal and wood, representing the forty-six buildings of the COCOTREN Project (Coastal Corridor of Tijuana, Rosarito, and Ensenada).
These buildings, abandoned since the 2008 financial crisis, have long symbolized decay and loss. Now, through redevelopment led by Luis Bustamante, they are being transformed into beacons of hope and renewal. Each sculpture embodies the rebirth of these structures, making the event a powerful metaphor for revival on a day dedicated to remembering life and heritage.
