About this Event
The Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival takes place at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania every year in early January. This will be the Church's 43rd production on January 10th and 11th, 2026. On Saturday, January 10th, performances will take place at 1:00, 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. On Sunday, January 11th, performances will be at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m.
The Boar's Head Festival originated at Queen's College, Oxford, England in 1340. The Festival celebrates the Epiphany when the Wise Men arrived in Bethlehem to honor the birth of Jesus. At St. Peter's it begins with a tiny sprite bearing a lighted candle symbolizing the coming of the Light into the darkened world. The Festival continues with, among others, a brass fanfare, the Lord and Lady of the Manor, woodsmen, shepherds, dancers, jesters, the Philadelphia and District Pipe Band, drummers and the Beefeaters who are the fabled ceremonial guards of the Tower of London. Finally, the Three Kings arrive bringing their gifts to Mary, Joseph and the Christ Child. There is plenty to keep the whole family inspired and entertained. Those assembled are asked to join in singing hymns along with the choir and cast of nearly 200 people.
St. Peter's is handicapped accessible with valet parking when needed. Free parking is available.
