The 42nd Annual Symposium will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm at Villa Ragusa in Downtown Campbell.

Join professionals and community members from across the Bay Area for a day-long symposium. Whether this is your first or 42nd year attending, we look forward to your participation at this year's event.

The symposium registration fee includes a full-day program, continental breakfast, a catered buffet lunch with vegetarian options, afternoon refreshments, continuing education units as designated below, and a certificate of completion upon request. Registration closes on April 4, 2025

Continuing education credits are available for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPPCs, and/or LEPs, nurses, attorneys, and paralegals!
Program Highlights:

Race, Child Safety, and Child Protective Services

Addressing two of the critical issues facing child protective services head-on, nationally recognized researchers Professor Brett Drake and Dr. Wendy Wiegmann will present their different perspectives on policies and practices addressing child safety and racial disproportionality. Then the two will be in conversation with each other about where there is common ground, where there are key differences, and what is the path forward.

Afternoon Keynote: Allegations of Child Abuse Arising in Family Court

Professor Joan Meier is the foremost researcher in America on what happens when allegations of child abuse arise in Family Court. She will present on what is happening, and what different policies and practices might do to provide better investigation, evaluation, and safety for children.

Continuing Education Units: Continuing Education Credit: Santa Clara County Social Services Agency (SSA) is approved by the CA Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs. Santa Clara County maintains responsibility for this program/course and its content. This conference meets the qualifications for 5.0 hours (s) of continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs, as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). CAMFT is the BBS-recognized approval agency—Provider #60165. Participants must attend the entire duration of the training to receive CE credit. CE credit requires the completion and submission of a CE Credit Application (which will be emailed to you upon registration). No partial credit is given to those who do not attend the entire training session. For questions regarding Social Work CE Credit, grievances, or special accommodations, please contact [email protected].


Parking: Free, all-day parking is available in the 2nd Street parking garage, located between East Campbell Ave. and Civic Center Drive, just one block from Villa Ragusa. Alternatively, free parking is available in the public garage on First Street, south of Orchard City Drive, behind the Water Tower Plaza, or in several downtown lots.


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? It's recommended, but you are not required to bring a copy of your ticket with you to the event. We will have a list of those who registered at the check-in tables.


Dress Code: Business casual; please dress comfortably. We'll do our best to keep the conference room at a comfortable temperature for everyone, but if you tend to get cold in large conference spaces, it’s best to bring a warm layer.
