There’s nothing more magical than 80,000 cubic feet of hot air flying overhead, hearing the burners shoot propane up and inflate the envelope of beautiful colors before your eyes. Hot air balloons have ascended over Artesia every November for the last 40 years! Whether this is your family’s lifelong tradition, or you are new to Southeast New Mexico, make plans to join us at Eagle Draw Park at dawn on Saturday and Sunday mornings, November 8th & 9th 2025. Make sure to stick around at Eagle Draw Park after the balloons lift off for lots of other "inflatable" events. Artesia's first ever inflatable costume race, inflatable bouncy houses, and even remote control "RC" balloons hanging out. We are still working through some of those details, but as soon as we nail them down, we will update!
Seeing the balloons is just the start but join us to hear the tunes too! Artesia Chamber of Commerce and Artesia Arts Council partnered up to bring you a concert event on Saturday, November 8 that will surely get you in the hot air balloon mood! The corner of 5th St. and Texas Ave will transform into the annual Balloons, Bands, and Brews complete with food trucks, New Mexico Brews, and live music including the Artesia High School Marching band playing along with the hot air balloon pilots. Of course we always also strive to have a balloon glow and we will strive again this year too!

“Urban Air Stream Rally” inside Heritage Plaza – This is something new to Artesia and actually will be NM’s first!

Friday Fun Flights from each of the schools’ playgrounds as their first school bell rings.
Saturday, November 8, 2025
6:00 am - Balloon Launch (weather permitting) at Eagle Draw Park between 7th & 13th streets
6:00 am - Food & Coffee Trucks serving at Eagle Draw Park
7:00 am – Artesia’s first “inflatable costume race” inside the draw where hot air balloons lifted from
7:00 am – RC Balloons flying around Eagle Draw park as well
5:00 pm –9:00 pm – Balloons, Bands, & NM Brews @ parking lot at 5th & Texas St.
*6:00 pm – the hot air balloon pilots will play along side the AHS marching band in a “fire concert”
Sunday, November 9, 2025 – basic repeat of Saturday

~13th Street Bridge will be home to the "Fly" or "No Fly" Banners - as soon as the lead pilot declares, the banner will be hung. We will also post on social media as quick as possible - so make sure to like and follow the Artesia Chamber of Commerce on Facebook and Instagram.
