A 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE TIMES OF HARVEY MILK AND ACCLAIMED DIRECTOR ROB EPSTEIN @ PALM SPRINGS CULTURAL CENTER, SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 2 PM - FREE EVENT
Marc Huestis presents a 40th Anniversary celebration of the classic Academy Award winning documentary The Times of Harvey Milk (shown in its digitally restored print) and its director Rob Epstein. This exciting event will introduced by TCM's Dave Karger. Following the screening there will be an on-stage conversation with Rob Epstein and Marc Huestis. The event occurs on Sunday, April 13, 2025, 2 pm at The Palm Springs Cultural Center. Admission is free to all.
The Times of Harvey Milk is the acclaimed 1985 documentary of the successful career and assassination of San Francisco's first elected gay city supervisor. It was universally lauded when it was released, and is now considered one of the greatest documentaries of all time. Given the current political climate the film is especially timely.
Director Rob Epstein is a two-time Oscar winner (also for Common Threads). He has also received 4 Emmys and a Grammy (for Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice). Three of his films are now in the United States National Registry of Film (The Times of Harvey Milk, Common Threads, and Word is Out). He is now a part-time Palm Springs resident.
For this event he will discuss the making of The Times of Harvey Milk as well as the many works in his stellar career. There also will be a special surprise at the end of this celebration.
Space is limited and reservations can be made at www.eventbrite.com. We encourage those interested to act quickly- the event will quickly sell-out.
