Warhammer 40K League
So this league will be a bit different then before, we will now have 3 divisions, with multiple brackets in each depending on the number of players. ALL OF THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE STILL.
The cost of the league is $20, if you are an elite member at TGC you get $5 back in store credit. That gets you a spot in 1) beginner’s division, 2) the normal division, 3) the competitive division OR 4) the normal division plus the Competitive division (if you really want to play a lot of 40K games!). Don’t forget the competitive division is only five games over around four months-one every 3 weeks. You can pay on this page (https://www.thegamechamber.com/products/40k-ontario-wide-league-london-division-ticket?_pos=1&_psq=ontario%20wid&_ss=e&_v=1.0)
For the first two divisions the following applies to both but NOT the Competitive division-there is a separate Ontario wide rules pack for that:
You must pick a faction, say Tyranids or blood angels and in each game 25% of your army must be from that faction, the rest can be another legal allied faction or the same faction or any combo. Even the units in your 25% primary faction can change from game to game. Depending on number of players you can expect to play 5-10 games over a few months, how you schedule them is up to you and your opponents, its all done through Facebook. We will be using the smaller tables. All of the prize money will go towards best painted, sportsmanship and the top spots in the normal division (competitive division is handled separately). Below is how painting and sportsmanship are scored-for these divisions the games are out of 90, no painting in the game score. These scoresheets are available at The Game Chamber and these games must be played at The Game Chamber-make sure you contact them ahead of time to book a table. Once your game is done one player needs to send the final score to me over Facebook. Each player then sends me the painting and sportsmanship scoresheet for their opponent, do not send them together. I will create a Facebook group for each bracket to help people arrange games and post updates every month or so to make sure the brackets are on track.
Painting Score (average tournament army should likely be a 3)
1) Are the models based
2) Is the basing above average, thematic, scenic
3) Are the models primed
4) Are the models 3 colour tournament standard minimum
5) Are the models amazingly painted, way above average
Total out of 5
In the case of a tie, the winners will send photos to Tim and myself to Judge and declare a winner.

Sportsmanship score (average player is hopefully a 3 or a 4)
1) Opponent was on time and ready to play
2) Opponent was easy to arrange games with
3) Opponent was polite, nice and didn't argue every rule
4) Opponent was fun to play against and you would like to play them in the future
5) Opponent was the best person to play against and you would want to play them over anyone else you have played with
Total out of 5
In the case of a tie, the winners will share the prize.
Now for more info on the 3 brackets.
Beginners/Variable Points division
This is for people that are either new to the game, or don’t have 2,000 points and want to play others of a similar skill/knowledge level. You can use either the GT or BRB missions, ask your opponent ahead of time, if you can’t agree, do BRB. Likely 5-10 games depending on number of players, you schedule them with your opponent.
Normal division
These are semi competitive brackets for people that want to play more standard 2,000 point games then the Competitive Ontario Wide division. You can use either the GT or BRB missions, ask your opponent ahead of time, if you can’t agree, do GT. I try to make sure each bracket has a mix of xenos, chaos, marines and other imperium. The top players in these brackets will then do a mini playoffs to determine top prizes (depending on # of players but likely top 8). Likely 5-10 games depending on number of players in the initial round and you schedule them with your opponent.
Competitive Division (AKA The Ontario Warhammer 40K League!)
See attached rules packet but no prizes are done for this at the local level. Its all for the honour of playing for “team London” at the RTT, which will have its own prizes-however a small portion of the entrance fee for the overall leagues will be held to support this. These games can be played anywhere that both players agree, whether it is at a store, someone’s house or even Tabletop simulator-however the packet has specific rules around TTS and that will be a last resort. Sportsmanship will be organized at the local level and will use the same system below. Send me the final score of the game and your sportsman ship score. There is a Facebook group for this part of the league but its not mandatory to join-https://www.facebook.com/Ontario40kLeague. There is also a discord chat on that page which is also optional right now, if you do join it, post in the welcome section and say that you are representing London.
