What's hand building? Everything that isn't wheel throwing is "hand-built" clay, so there is a world of possibilities! This 4-week course will explore several methods of creating functional and decorative items using stoneware clay. Combine slab building, pinching, coiling, and drape/slump forms, plus discover ways to add texture and how to make strong connections in clay. Topics include common clay tools and terms, clay studio processes, and how to reclaim unused clay so nothing is wasted.Use our patterns and samples or bring your own ideas!
