KLC Couture Career Development Center, Inc. is currently offering one on one private sewing lessons to the general public.
The lessons are offered each scheduled Saturday from 10:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. We are currently offering lessons to ages 9 years old to adults.
For children ages 9 -15 years old the parents are required to complete a childcare application and healthcare form for this age group because I have a childcare license to work with children in this age group.
A parent may not sit in a child's sewing lesson unless the parent has a combined ticket. However, the parent will be allowed to wait in our waiting area for their child to complete their sewing lesson.
The sewing lessons will include:
*discuss sewing safety
*identify sewing machine and serger machine part identification
*identify how to measure your body correctly
*identify the correct posture to sew to prevent injury
*identify basic sewing commercial pattern pieces for each project
*identify the fabric to be used for each project
*thread the serger and sewing machine
*laying out your fabric and commercial pattern pieces correctly
*pin down and cut out the commercial patterns on fabric correctly according to the commercial pattern guide
*thread the sewing machine and serger machine
*use the serger machine to finish the insides or your projects
*use the sewing machine to sew your projects
Note:
YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN SEWING FABRIC AND SEWING PATTERN. CALL TO DISCUSS THE SEWING PATTERN AND FABRIC TYPE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE THEM.
The sewing machine equipment and sewing tools will be provided by KLC Couture Career Development Center, Inc. only. We will only train you how to use the Center's sewing equipment and not your own personal sewing machine equipment.
You will take your projects with you when finished.
Meals and beverages are not provided.
There will be no smoking inside KLC Couture. No video filming allowed please. You are allowed to take pictures of your experience and projects inside the location.
I accept payments using PayPal payments processing only paid online. No acceptions. The tuition payment is required before attending any lesson.
We are located near the Suitland Metro Station and the Branch Avenue Metro Station. Please check Metro for bus scheduling.
