About this Event
Dauntlez is a 501(c) non-profit organization whose vision is to transform communities by empowering individuals especially women and teens to prevent, resist, and/or defend against different forms of personal violence. We do this through workshops and classes to educate the public on the mental and physical strategies for prevention and defense.
This program was developed by the American Women's Self Defense Association (https://www.awsda.org) and is based on three (3) principles: Awareness, De-escalation, and Engagement.
After attending our workshop, you will be able to identify risks, evaluate your strength, and explore options for dealing with the threat of violence. In addition, you will also be educated on the legalities of self-defense in Washington State and how to have that conversation with law enforcement after an incident. This program is designed for women who have NO martial arts experience, so you do not need to have any martial arts background.
- Class is open to female from 16 to 65 years old.
- Open to all who identifies as a women, transwomen, and women at birth identifying themselves as non-binary.
- For minors, a consent form duly signed by the parent/guardian prior to the beginning of class is needed.
- Registration is REQUIRED.
