Amy McCallister-Ethel, Resource Development Manager, Habitat for Humanity of the Tri-State, Inc.
Amy McCallister-Ethel is a seasoned communications and public relations professional with over 22 years of experience. She began her career working with companies in the West Virginia, Kentucky, and Ohio regions, steadily advancing to collaborate with Silicon Valley startups and innovative product launches in the Technology Industry.
In early 2023, Amy embraced a new role as a College Enrollment Coordinator at Marshall University, her alma mater, where she earned a BA in Public Relations/Journalism. In this position, she leveraged her PR and strategic communications expertise to attract and retain prospective students, particularly in the Arts & Media and Education degree programs.
Currently, Amy serves as the Resource Development Manager for Habitat for Humanity of the Tri-State, where she leads fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement efforts. She works to build partnerships, secure grants, and develop strategic campaigns that support Habitat's mission of providing safe, affordable housing to income-qualified homebuyers. Her ability to connect with stakeholders and tell compelling stories plays a vital role in raising awareness and resources for the organization.
Throughout her career, Amy has demonstrated a passion for bridging the gap between organizations and the public, offering services ranging from public relations and project management to content strategy and technical writing. Her portfolio showcases collaborations with a diverse array of clients, companies, and brands.
Recognized for her contributions, Amy received the Outstanding Team Player in Public Relations Award from the faculty members of the W. Page Pitt School of Journalism. She continues to share her insights and experiences through her website and blog, covering topics such as leadership, personal accountability, and daily writing prompts. Amy is still actively serving her tech clients on a part-time basis, most recently supporting six new products/startups in January 2025 at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) – ‘A Global Stage for Innovation’.
