Join us every 3rd Thursday for community and lessons on how to creatively reuse everyday items. Learn from our talented sustainability expert and owner of Junket: Tossed and Found, Julie Kearns, to discover new and unique skills every month!
✉️ Book page envelopes on April 17, 2025:
*During this session, we’ll each pick some favorite pages from a whole pile of vintage papers — and then we'll use templates to create one of a kind envelopes for snail mail, gift giving, and/or small item storage. Attendees will have the option to create their own template for at-home use and will be sent home with instructions for envelope glue that can be made using a few common pantry ingredients. 100% post-consumer materials & supplies included.
📚Blackout Poetry on May 15, 2025
*While most creative writing is generative in nature, blackout poetry is a reductive practice: using a text-filled page, we choose which words remain, and cross out the remainders.
*During this session, users will select pages from an assortment of 20th century papers, and will use pen & ink to creatively eliminate the extra words. 100% post-consumer materials & supplies included.
🖼️ Tiny Collage on July 17th, 2025
*One of the most interesting things we’ve learned about sustainable living? Our curious & novelty-seeking brains are equally stimulated by creative processes big & small - so given resource constraints and concerns about manufacturing and waste, the joy-to-emissions ratio is far, far higher when we lean into small solutions (and, even smaller when we stick to using materials that already exist).
*During this session, users will start with their choice of small items and then fussy-cut and collage their way to a finished product that’s both artful and useful. We’ll supply a variety of small, blank items and an assortment of 20th century media plus everything needed to complete the activity.
