Over a 24-hour period, beginning and ending at sunrise, Patrick Murch and JM Borer will build an immersive and ongoing drone environment.

The fifth iteration of an ongoing series of extended form audio pieces, β€œ7 Intuitions 5” is designed to open channels of communication with those close to us who have gone, left, or never came. Over a 24-hour period, beginning and ending at sunrise, Patrick Murch and JM Borer will build an immersive and ongoing drone environment. Acoustic and electronic sources will be recorded live onto cassette, and then re-recorded and layered into a sonic psycho-geography of the extraordinary.
Murch writes: β€œIt's about using our bodies as antennas, turning the space into a handmade radio tower. Everything has a current: a spark that is borne within an individual or object that connects to the rivers of electricity that run through all levels (highs, mids, and lows) of this experience of life and death. Each new birth, death, idea, negation, emotion, etc. causes a new spark that is borne and sent to swim up the electric stream to the latently fertile ground of the collective unconscious. Here life and death are close compatriots, only two points along a knotted wire. Here we can talk, laugh, cry, play, collaborate, teach, learn.”
People are welcome to come and go and come again, walk-ins are welcome.
Pat Murch is a noise and sound artist and curator based in San Francisco. Performing solo as Sissisters since 2009, he has also collaborated with many fine people, including Nial Morgan, William Hutson, Julie Tolentino, Tamaki Ueda / Banetoriko, Philip Kruse, and Kevin McEleney. He founded and ran Mata Gallery in Los Angeles from 2013-16 and has curated shows at Human Resources, AxS Festival (with Julie Tolentino), and Jewel's Catch One.
JM Borer is a sound and noise artist based in Greenville, North Carolina. Often obscuring his identity, he has performed in many different projects that can not be named. Based in Los Angeles for many years, he founded and ran the label OMS-B with Philip Kruse in 2004.
