About the Organization
The United Black Student Unions of California (UBSUC) is a statewide network of student-led organizations committed to promoting academic excellence, cultural awareness, and social empowerment among Black youth. UBSUC provides a platform for students to lead, advocate, and engage in meaningful conversations that promote equity, leadership, and unity across California schools. The Central Region continues to serve as a hub of collaboration, supporting BSU chapters and creating impactful events like Gospel Jam that empower and uplift youth.
Mission Statement
We have been dedicated to the leadership and development of high school BSU students for over 50 years. Our purpose is to promote the development of cooperative efforts among schools and communities, to perpetuate the opportunities for self, school, and community improvement, and to train and encourage leadership through Black Student Union clubs on high school campuses.

Gospel Jam serves as both a cultural showcase and a community-building event. It provides students with an opportunity to express their talents, celebrate Black excellence, and connect with others who share a passion for faith, positivity, and progress. The event emphasizes unity and joy, encouraging attendees to come together in celebration and purpose.
