We are back for our 3rd year of Phil Phest 5K! 🍔🏁🏆All proceeds from the race go to the Running For Dreams Foundation.
Each April, Phil Phest transforms the city of Harahan into a festival grounds where runners and supporters alike come together for an evening of purpose. The event features a community 5K run followed by live music, local food and drinks, and the legendary Phil’s Grill burgers served by familiar faces from the retired restaurant’s kitchen.
Through an incredible journey from surgery and chemotherapy to endurance training and ultramarathons, Phil de Gruy found a lifestyle change and a new purpose. After defeating cancer two times and realizing how blessed his family was, he decided there weren’t enough resources to help kids who have lost a parent to cancer. Running for Dreams is here to change that.
In the past two years we have raised over $25,000 (each year) to help families who have been impacted by the loss of a parent due to cancer. Help us reach our goal of $30,000 for Year 3!!!

We have moved locations - The pre and post race Phest will take place at the old Colonial Country Club in Harahan. Same area, same great vibes!

COURSE DETAILS
The race will be 100% on the beautiful Mississippi River Levee at sunset, starting and finishing on the jogging path and Fortier Lane. Participants will run on the right side of the jogging path at all times. There will be a water station near the turnaround point at 1.55 miles. All runners will return back to the finish and immediately head to the post race festivities.
PET POLICY
We love dogs, but we discourage them on such a narrow course. If you do bring your dog please start at the back of the pack, and keep on a short leash, as to not trip or interfere with other runners.
POST RACE
The post-race fest will begin immediately following the race on the grounds of the old Colonial Country Club
