Please join our family for our 3rd annual memorial run in honor of our husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend, inspiration. As many of you know, Dad was always dedicated in looking for ways to improve life for all who call Dubuque home. He looked for ways to make Dubuque as great as he knew it could be, and this often manifested itself as joining in local 5ks aimed at bettering the lives of those around him who may need a helping hand. In his memory, our family has created the Live Like Mark Campaign, and this run is one of the ways we try to keep that goal alive. Our goal is to carry on his mission, and as such we are as dedicated as he was to make life a little better in any small way for those around us.
This year we are partnered with Special Spaces. We know a cancer diagnosis can be a life altering event and cause a strain on families in every way. Special Spaces is there to help ease this strain for children with a cancer diagnosis by offering a place where they can be comfortable while they heal, relax, and play because no child should ever lose the ability to be a kid and enjoy life. When our own family dealt with a cancer diagnosis, there was one constant to hold us strong and keep us aimed at the light at the end of the tunnel and that was Dad so it only feels right we help support a cause dedicated to helping others find the joy in life like he always could.
Our family has been involved with this program for years, and our family has seen the great work they do, the smiles they create, and the love the spread. We hope to help boost their program into the forefront of people's minds, and assist them anyway we can in creating safe, comfortable, relaxing, and joy filled spaces for local youth to heal, and for a minute be a kid again in the face of incredibly trying times.
We look forward to seeing everyone again as we run, walk, sprint, or crawl the Heritage Trail to celebrate local programming.
Please join us May 3, 2025 at the Heritage Trail in Dubuque. Official run time starts at 8. We will have a coffee truck, raffles, and good memories to make and look back on.
