My (now annual) social experiment to see if we can keep the chill vibe of the BoPo Karl's tourneys while juicing the stakes. If you've ever argued with me about our formats, sit this one out. Our tourneys are light on rules, heavy on music and alcohol. This one will be no different.
Three squads of 48 instead of two squads of 64.

Three 48-entry squads on Saturday, October 12th (8:30 am, 11:30am and 2:30pm). All squads on fresh oil. Four games qualifying (same as all Karl's events). Desperado squad ($50 and must have paid a regular entry) max 24 players, 2 game total, at 5:30pm on burn. Top 4 from each squad, plus next 18 highest scores (plus 2 desperado entries) advance to playoffs on Sunday, October 13th. Playoff seeding is based on qualifying score, regardless of squad, and desperado winners will be 31st and 32nd seeds. In event of a tie for seeding, tiebreaker goes to bowler who had the highest low score. (Desperado squad tie settled by by 9th/10th frame rolloff.) Re-entries allowed if space available.
Playoff format (approximate times):
For first three rounds, all matches are best of three (not total pins). If each player wins one and third game is a tie, winner is highest total pins. If it is 1-1-1 and total pins is also a tie, tiebreaker is one ball bowloff. Playoffs will take place across all 16 lanes, with only two bowlers per pair. For first three rounds of playoffs, highest seed gets first choice of lane pair, then 2nd highest and so on.
