Support a great cause by shopping for locally-made pottery! Proceeds from this sale benefit Bean's Cafe.Join us for the 3rd annual Empty Bowl Sale at Turnagain Ceramics! In February, our members gathered for our annual Throwathon. Together, they created a bounty of beautiful bowls to sell at this event. 100% of proceeds from these bowls will be donated to Bean’s Cafe.
In addition to these bowls, we will have even more handmade pottery by our talented studio members. A percentage of the proceeds from these pieces will benefit Bean’s Cafe, and the remainder will support local ceramic artists. Don't be fooled by the name– this sale will include more than bowls! Our members create a variety of beautiful mugs, plates, bowls, sculptures, and more. This sale is a must-see if you love pottery, and it benefits a great cause!
Bean’s Cafe began with a simple vision: Create a place where people in need can find comfort, warmth, and a helping hand. Professor and humanitarian, Lynn Ballew, founded our organization with this vision in mind. Bean’s Cafe has served the Anchorage community continuously and has grown significantly during the last 45 years. They moved to better-equipped facilities within the community to enable us to expand the range of services we provide. Bean’s Cafe will continue to fight hunger for all ages, one meal at a time, while also providing dignified pathways to self-sufficiency.
