The Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and BC Wildlife Federation are excited to invite you to the 2x Award-Winning 3rd Annual Advancing Women in Conservation (AWIC) Summit; Canada’s only gathering in support of creating a better working culture for women dedicated to conservation. While women make up well over half of the workforce and volunteer pool in most conservation endeavours, women are routinely absent or underrepresented when it comes down to board and decision-making roles, and countless others still face stigma in the field.
This spring, join other individuals from across the country in building a better culture for women working and volunteering in conservation.
This event is open to women and men who currently work/volunteer/attend school, or plan to work/volunteer/attend school within the conservation and environmental sectors.
WHEN: Friday April 4 to Sunday, April 6
WHERE: Vancouver Airport Marriott Hotel, Richmond, BC (7571 Westminster Hwy)
REGISTRATION FEE: $325 includes meals, non-alcoholic beverages, field trip fees, and access to all presentations.
What to expect:
- Share and hear the experience of counterparts across the country
- Address issues and create resources for women working and volunteering in conservation
- Attend workshops to build skills from public speaking, to joining Governance roles.
- Keynote address by Demiesha Dennis, founder of Brown Girl Outdoor World, avid angler, and trailblazer in the outdoors community.
