3D Needle Felting 101

Bleu has been an avid needle felting instructor since 2011 and delights in the tactile nature of the craft. They love that in needle felting, no two creations are alike and, unlike most fiber arts, there is no set pattern or steps to follow. In their classes, they encourage students to hone their tactile senses and structural visualization skills while teaching the science of non-woven fibers. As a craftsperson, Bleu relishes giving their projects a soft and squishable feel. They especially enjoy making animals realistic or stylized, real or imagined.

Have you wanted to learn needle felting but have trouble finding materials or instructors? Or maybe you just want to stab something until it's cute? Then this workshop is for you.

In this workshop, you will be provided with the fundamental tools of sculptural needle felting, including felting needles and a protective foam mat. Over the course of 3.5 hours, you will be taught how to use these tools well and safely as you are guided through a simple felting project. This workshop is meant to introduce the craft and set up new learners for future projects.

• Students will become familiar with the tools and materials used in sculptural needle felting.
• They will learn the fundamental skills needed to use these tools safely and well.
• They will be shown methods of drafting sculptural felting projects and guided through the process of making a simple project.

The materials fee for this class is $6 for consumed materials and the use of tools during the workshop. If you would like to keep your tools after the workshop, there is an additional $10 restocking fee. This instructor prefers payments through Venmo, Paypal, and Cashapp; cash is accepted.
