We live in a globalized world shaped by migration, geopolitical crises, and social polarization. Religion is closely entangled with these changes. Therefore, the involvement of religion in the context of a currently polarized society raises many problematic questions:
🔹How does the potential of religious beliefs to counter or contribute to economic, political, and social polarization play out?
🔹How might sociological research illuminate the contributions of conflictual and peaceful aspects of religions to geopolitical crises?
🔹How do political conflicts, social polarizations, and religious responses change existing religion, politics, and state relations and their interpretations?
🔹How do they change the public perception of religion, religious identity, and individual religiosity?
PLACE AND DATE
📍These and other questions will be discussed by scholars in an international conference at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania 🇱🇹 June 30 – July 4, 2025.

📍Call for sessions: 25 July – 30 September 2024.
📍Notification of the session acceptance: 30 October 2024.
📍Call for papers: 14 October – 9 December 2024.
📍Notification of the paper acceptance: 3 February 2025.
