Lexington Roots & Heritage Festival
For over 30 years, the Roots & Heritage Festival has been a cornerstone of diversity, entertainment, and cultural education in Central Kentucky. This vibrant event celebrates African-American culture and the city’s many communities through a rich blend of food, music, performances, educational programming, a parade, and local vendors.
Festival Hours:
Friday: 7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Activities Include:
•Live music and performances from regional and touring artists
•Family-friendly programming
•Food vendors serving local and regional cuisine
•Numerous vendors offering crafts, clothing, and cultural goods — including many Black-owned businesses
•Educational and cultural presentations highlighting Lexington’s diverse heritage
