The 35th AIDA Freediving World Championship 2025 is set to take place in Limassol, Cyprus, from September 20 to October 3, 2025. This prestigious event will feature a series of competitions, including Constant Weight (CNF), Constant Weight with Bi-Fins (CWTB), and Free Immersion (FIM) disciplines for both men and women. The schedule is as follows:- September 20: Registration Day 1 and Opening Ceremony
- September 21: Registration Day 2 and Official Training for Women
- September 22: Official Training for Men
- September 23: Competition Day 1 – CNF Women
- September 24: Competition Day 2 – CNF Men
- September 25: Competition Day 3 – CWTB Women
- September 26: Competition Day 4 – CWTB Men
- September 27: Rest/Backup Day 1
- September 28: Competition Day 5 – FIM Women
- September 29: Competition Day 6 – FIM Men
- September 30: Competition Day 7 – CWT Women
- October 1: Competition Day 8 – CWT Men
- October 2: Backup Day 2 and Closing Ceremony
- October 3: Departure
The event will be held at a competition site with a depth of 170 meters, located approximately 1 mile from the beach. The water temperature ranges between 25-28°C, providing optimal conditions for freediving. The venue is equipped with two competition lines featuring a counter ballast system operating at a speed of 1.5 meters per second, ensuring safety and efficiency during the competitions. High-resolution sonar and connected video cameras will offer real-time information on the freediver’s progress, enhancing the overall experience for participants and spectators alike. Additionally, four warm-up lines up to 30 meters and four experienced safety divers with underwater scooters per competition line will be available to ensure the safety of all participants. Dry warm-up facilities will be accessible on the vessel and on a smaller platform near the performance zone. Oxygen will be available at the dive location, and AIDA Medical Committee members, along with emergency medical personnel selected by the committee, will be present at the competition zone to handle potential accidents. An evacuation boat with a first aid crew and doctor will also be on standby.
For accommodation, the official hotel is Hotel Park Beach, located directly on the beach with direct access to the boat corridor, approximately 70 meters away. The hotel offers recently renovated rooms in a wooded area, ideal for relaxation. Room rates are as follows:
- Single sea view with bed and breakfast: €106 per room per day
- Twin/double sea view with bed and breakfast: €120 per room per day
- Triple sea view with bed and breakfast: €174 per room per day
A full board supplement is available at €28 per person per day. The hotel has reserved 20-25 rooms for participants at these rates, available on a first-come, first-served basis. To book, use the reservation code 'AIDA' when contacting the hotel.
Cyprus is well-connected by various international carriers, including low-budget airlines such as Ryan Air, Easy Jet, Wizz Air, and Blue Air, connecting the island to major European cities. The main airport is Larnaca International Airport (LCA), located approximately 77 kilometers from Limassol, and Paphos International Airport (PFO), situated around 67 kilometers from Limassol. Both airports are accessible via modern highways within a 45-minute drive to Limassol.
For transportation from the airports to the official hotel, taxis are available, and assistance can be requested by contacting [email protected]. Additionally, Limassol Urban Buses offer transfers from Larnaca or Paphos Airports to Limassol with daily schedules, including weekends and public holidays, at a current cost of €10 per person, including VAT and luggage.
