Vocational Enrichment Programme: Biomedical and Trauma Informed Yoga for the IndividualWelcome to BIYOME’s Restorative Yoga Stream! Quite literally, this is one of the best things you could do in your life.
Whole Heartedly: With the whole of your nature, follow this gentle path to knowing within its 24-acre sanctuary setting, designed specially to restore, rejuvenate, and regenerate your good heart.
Restorative yoga is an evidence-based practice that provides whole-body rejuvenation and restoration bridging the gap between an intense yoga class and a seated meditation class. Moreover, restorative yoga has the capacity to completely tone the nervous system: deep interoceptive awareness is developed to transform suffering. Restorative yoga is a gentle way of practice, a magnificent and empowering therapeutic tool that awakens the energetic systems of the mind-body, developing a heightened sensitivity and a gentle self-compassion; this then intrinsically enhances holistic wellbeing making it incredibly accessible to many people.
Restorative Yoga provides an immersive experience that enables all yoga practitioners to have a first-hand proficiency and adept understanding of psychosomatic medicine and the healing process. Such includes specific practices in asanas, sequencing, touch adjustments, accurate and precise alignment tutelage, correct prop usage, pranayama with Props, and the physiology of relaxation.
BIYOME has developed a unique approach to our restorative specialization combining it with trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher training. This 350-hour course facilitates an appreciation for the biological, psychological, and sociological (biopsychosocial) aspects of yoga and meditation as lifestyle medicine that caters to improving physical and mental health. By delivering you the highest quality educational resources with state-of-the-art evidence-based science, we endeavor to assist you in creating opportunities for adeptly understanding the imperative nature of the mind-body connection as it relates to a broader context of mental health in and beyond the 21st century.
This course is designed to be completed within 12-18 months.
Students who wish to go beyond the 350hr membership with the respective associations may want to either explore:
