Vocational Enrichment Programme: Biomedical and Trauma Informed Yoga for the Individual
Welcome to BIYOME’s Restorative Yoga Stream! Quite literally, this is one of the best things you could do in your life.
Whole Heartedly: With the whole of your nature, follow this gentle path to knowing within its 24-acre sanctuary setting, designed specially to restore, rejuvenate, and regenerate your good heart.
Restorative yoga is an evidence-based practice that provides whole-body rejuvenation and restoration bridging the gap between an intense yoga class and a seated meditation class. Moreover, restorative yoga has the capacity to completely tone the nervous system: deep interoceptive awareness is developed to transform suffering. Restorative yoga is a gentle way of practice, a magnificent and empowering therapeutic tool that awakens the energetic systems of the mind-body, developing a heightened sensitivity and a gentle self-compassion; this then intrinsically enhances holistic wellbeing making it incredibly accessible to many people.
Restorative Yoga provides an immersive experience that enables all yoga practitioners to have a first-hand proficiency and adept understanding of psychosomatic medicine and the healing process. Such includes specific practices in asanas, sequencing, touch adjustments, accurate and precise alignment tutelage, correct prop usage, pranayama with Props, and the physiology of relaxation.
BIYOME has developed a unique approach to our restorative specialization combining it with trauma-informed yoga and meditation teacher training. This 350-hour course facilitates an appreciation for the biological, psychological, and sociological (biopsychosocial) aspects of yoga and meditation as lifestyle medicine that caters to improving physical and mental health. By delivering you the highest quality educational resources with state-of-the-art evidence-based science, we endeavor to assist you in creating opportunities for adeptly understanding the imperative nature of the mind-body connection as it relates to a broader context of mental health in and beyond the 21st century.
This course is designed to be completed within 12-18 months.
Students who wish to go beyond the 350hr membership with the respective associations may want to either explore:

What You Will Walk Away With
The 350-hour Personalised Biomedical Yoga specializing in Restorative Yoga and Meditation course opens the door to becoming a level 1 yoga teacher registered with Yoga Australia and a full member of the Meditation Association of Australia over a 12-18 month time frame.
Upon completing the 350-hour course, you will have the skills to teach a rich and informative, highly educated class to those with therapeutic needs. You will be able to understand and deliver your teachings with confidence, convey the latest biomedical research in the field to students, offer appropriate alignment cues, give touch adjustments, and teach yoga postures aided by props designed to assist with neurological feedback. You will be confident in developing heightened proprioceptive awareness in your students and give them a suitable level of control over breath, mind, and body.
As a BIYOME teacher, you will be able to cultivate the experience of meditation through yoga asana, harness the psychological state of flow in your classroom and offer your students the ultimate transcendental experience described for millennia through the science of yoga.

BIYOME’s Yoga Teacher Training courses also create a unique avenue to becoming a yoga and meditation teacher registered with Yoga Australia, Yoga Alliance, and Meditation Australia.
Upon graduation, certification with BIYOME avails the opportunity to register with either Association providing you with a globally recognized membership. Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance provide a standard of training recognition for teachers to practice with insurance worldwide.
