Grooverider
Grooverider is hailed as the "Godfather of Drum and Bass", playing a pivotal role in the creation and popularisation of the genre. Starting as a DJ in the late 1980s, Grooverider transitioned from the acid house and hardcore scenes to help birth Jungle and Drum and Bass. He’s known for his groundbreaking work on pirate radio and his residency at the legendary Rage nights at Heaven, which defined the early Drum and Bass sound. With iconic releases like "Prototype Years" and a string of influential mixes, Grooverider has left an indelible mark on the scene, influencing generations of producers and DJs.
DJSS
A true pioneer, DJSS founded Formation Records in 1989, one of the first labels dedicated to Jungle and Drum and Bass. Originally a breakdancer and Scratch DJ, DJSS transitioned into DJing and production of Hardcore in the early rave days, contributing massively to the evolution of Drum and Bass. Tracks like “The Lighter” became genre anthems, showcasing his knack for blending euphoric melodies with hard-hitting basslines. MC Felon
