32 Grandparents Deep

32 GRANDPARENTS DEEP is an event meant to capture and share the cultural stories and wisdom embedded within our community through art, writing, conversation and storytelling. An opportunity for the community to to share their stories, memories and experiences in order to build bridges of understanding between us.

Participants will spend time creating and discussing themes like conncetion to elders, friendship, preservation of history, belonging and the immigrant experience at various tables.

Saturday October 18 2025 from 12-4PM

In the Rotary Room at the Ajax Public Library - located at 55 Harwood St South in Ajax, Ontario. This location is wheelchair accessible with public bathrooms available on site.

Hosted by Jam's Creative Lab, a mobile and online community arts space founded by Jamaica Bridgett to resist individualism through collaborative workshops, event and programs that use art to connect people. Email Jamaica with questions - [email protected]

Featuring speakers: Jim "Many Hats" Adams and Kesha Christie

Including organizations and facilitators like: Durham Family & Cultural Centre, Wonderfully Made, Roy Massey, Sotoda Forotan, Nina Escalante, and more.

The kids table will feature a storybook reading, activities and art making, facilitated by Gracian Ndi

Art created in the space will be compiled into a digital offering that will be shared with all partners and participants.

Halal, vegetarian and culturally affirming food and refreshments will be provided. Lunch will be catered by MS. B'S GOOD GOOD.

Info: Participants will break out into activities at tables hosted by various community leaders and cultural groups.

Info: Participants will rotate to another table and engage in different activities and discussions lead by another community leader or organization.
