About this Event
Lighthouse Collaborative Summary: The Lighthouse Collaborative (LC) is a cross-district instructional improvement initiative designed to support the Chancellor’s Four Pillars, with an emphasis on expanding our ability to “scale, sustain and restore what works” through collaborative inquiry and sharing of promising practices. All Lighthouse Collaborative schools open their doors to a citywide audience to share promising practices within an instructional focus area.
Visit Summary: Naples Street Elementary School is an elementary school located in Staten Island.
At this Lighthouse Collaborative visit, participants will:
- Learn about a variety of pedagogical structures, including mental math mini-lessons, error analysis, peer mentoring, centers, and workstations.
- See student leadership in class activities with teacher supervision.
- Engage in simulations of key classroom routines to further probe each pedagogical structure.
At the end of the day, visitors will have the opportunity to plan how these practices can be incorporated into their own work.
