Pete Parisi's dream was to get his St. Louis public access show World Wide Magazine to bigger audiences. Back in 1994, he had a job at local station KPLR channel 11 manning the control boards and cutting to commercials, especially during late nights. He used 3/4" U-Matic tapes from the station to record many of the masters of the show onto. KPLR offered him a shot to air one of his shows. It ended up being the only episode not on public access. The theme of the show was 'What St. Louis Means to Me'. Pete has people around town answer what the city means to them, but with his unique spin. See clips of the WWM cast at the VP Fair. See the Chase Park Plaza when it was dormant before its 1997 redevelopment. Go on a tour of St. Louis with the ladies of The Diamond Cabaret and the horny men of WWM. Includes Vince, Marty, Cathy, Father Time, Big Mike, Dump Truck Dave Perry, 'The Songbird' Vanessa Vargo, and more, with original music by Tim Kniest. This episode is now most famous for its Crossroads of the World segment at the intersection of Grand and Gravois. You may recognize this bit or at least one of the grinning south city party boys in it who has ended up in many memes since this episode hit the web. He growed up here.
Tickets are $5 and proceeds go to further digitization of The Pete Parisi Archives. As in the past, some cast members may be in attendance.
