About this Event
Worldwide, over 100 countries have signed onto the 30x30 pledge to protect earth's lands and coastal waters. In October of 2020, Governor Newsom issued an Executive Order committing the state to a goal of conserving 30% of California’s lands and coastal waters by 2030 – known as 30x30 California. The order includes a directive to achieve the goal in a manner that protects biodiversity, combats climate change, and improves equitable access to nature for all.
Come and learn how you can help achieve this ambitious goal from individuals working it at this free program presented by the Citizens Environmental Council. Stu Weiss of Creekside Science, Kellyx Nelson of the San Mateo Resource Conservation District, and Liz Chamberlin of Point Blue Conservation Science will describe local projects aimed at achieving 30x30 goals, and they'll explain how you can participate in supporting the initiative's success.
