About this Event
30th Process Intensification Network Meeting (PIN30)
Date: Tuesday 2nd July 2024
Location: Research Beehive, Old Library Building, Newcastle University
Process intensification means making order of magnitude reductions in the size of unit operations within chemical plants whilst still meeting given production objectives. This leads to significant cost savings by eliminating pipe runs, support structures, expensive foundations, and other civil engineering costs.
The Process Intensification Network (PIN) is a group of companies, research labs, institutes, academic institutions, and individuals all working in the area of process intensification.
The annual one-day PIN meeting organised by the Process Intensification Group (PIG) at Newcastle University provides a forum for knowledge transfer between these stakeholders and for bridging the gap between industry and university.
At PIN30, you will see a mix of 25 min academic and industrial talks focussing on a range of projects and technologies including flow chemistry, reactor engineering, and biorefining, which will be followed by several shorter 5-min intensified talks to spark ideas. There will also be a space for research posters and roller banners that can be viewed during the breaks.
The event is free to attend, which will include free refreshments and a free lunch!
Attendees are also invited to attend an evening meal (at your own expense) the evening before on Monday 1st July; please indicate whether you would like to attend when registering so we can book accordingly.
